Cancellation Policy
General Policy
Due to our short operating season, we have a strict cancellation policy. We are not able to make any exceptions to this cancellation policy. By making a reservation, you are agreeing to the following terms and conditions.
We highly recommend purchasing travel insurance. Optional travel insurance: travelinsurance.com.
Cancellation within:
- 0-30 days from trip date – no refund
- 31-60 days from trip date – 50% refund
- 61 days or more from trip date – full refund minus Credit Card processing fee
Reservation Made Through Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, or Expedia
We’re happy to host you wherever you find us! Please note that reservations made through third‑party platforms (Airbnb, Vrbo, Booking.com, Expedia, etc.) are not direct bookings.
- Platform policies apply: We follow the cancellation and change policy shown on that platform at the time you confirm your reservation.
- Platform fees: Vrbo, Booking.com, Expedia or Airbnb charge their own service/commission and payment processing fees. Those fees are set and retained by the platform and may be non‑refundable per their rules.
- How to cancel or modify: All changes, cancellations, and refund requests for third‑party bookings must be submitted through the same platform. We can’t override, waive, or process them directly.
- Refund timing: Any eligible refunds are issued by the platform according to their timelines and methods.
- Different from direct bookings: Our direct booking policies and credit card fee rules apply only to reservations made directly with us. Platform bookings are governed entirely by the platform’s terms, including taxes, deposits, and damage claims.
- Tip: Before booking, please review the cancellation policy and service fee details shown on the platform listing, as they may vary by listing, date, or rate plan.
Cancellation Policy for Kenai Fjord Tours
A full refund for cancellations made 15 days prior to departure. No refunds will be issued on cancellations within 15 days prior of departure. Cancellations may be made by Kenai Fjords Tours if weather or other conditions prevail. In this case, Kenai Fjords Tours is liable only for the funds paid to them. If weather or sea conditions allow cruising in Resurrection Bay only, Kenai Fjords Tours may modify a National Park Tour and will refund $40 per full-fare adult and $20 per full-fare child.
Cancellation Policy for Major Marine Tours
Cruise reservations purchased at regular price are fully refundable until 2 weeks prior to cruise date; 70% refundable within 2 weeks till 24 hrs prior to cruise; nonrefundable within 24hrs of cruise. Reservation date may be changed once at no charge by calling at least 24 hours prior to original cruise date (subject to availability). Each subsequent change will be subject to a $15 per person change fee. Tickets not used at time of sailing ( “no show”) are totally non-refundable and may not be used on other sailings. Tickets not picked up 15 minutes prior to cruise departure are subject to cancellation. The cancelled tickets can be used on another cruise for a $15 per person fee.
At the discretion of the Coast Guard certified captain, Major Marine Tours reserves the right to cancel or re-route its cruises based on weather or other conditions. In case of such cancellations, Major Marine Tours is liable only for the funds paid to them. If conditions only allow cruising in Resurrection Bay, Major Marine Tours may modify the National Park Tour and will refund $30 per full-fare adult and $20 per full-fare child. If you purchased your cruise at a discounted fare, you will be refunded $25 per adult and $15 per child.
Cancellation Policy for Ididaride Tours
A full refund will be issued on all cancellations made more than two week prior to tour date. Within two weeks, cancellations are subject to a 30% fee. No refunds will be issued within 24 hours of the original tour time.
